Sweet Sketch Wednesday 195: Bugaboo Stamps

Hello!  Welcome to another Wednesday, and that means another Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge.
This is my first post on the Sweet Sketch Wednesday page, so please bear with me.  Who would have thought that only a year ago I had just started making cards again, and here I am, on the design team for Sweet Sketch Wednesday.  This has been an amazing opportunity for me and I am enjoying every minute of it.  The only downside is that I can't enter the challenges any more :-(
Anyway, this week I would like to talk about mothers.  In the UK, we have mother's day coming up on Sunday, 10th March, so don't be surprised if you find lots of entries from the UK this week which are in fact cards for Mother's day.

This is me and my mum:

We don't always get along like the best of friends, but I would be lost without her.  I also don't usually tower over her quite that much - I had 4 inch heels on - I am normally only a teeny bit taller than her, having inherited her midget gene (my dad and both my sisters are tall).
Anyway, I have been wracking my brains over the last few weeks trying to decide what to buy or make her for mother's day.  I still haven't decided and will probably only decide the day before.

But shall we get onto the Sketch . . .
Let’s get started by announcing the winners of last week’s challenge…..
The Grand Prize Winner of Sketch #194-5 is: Donna from Craftdee #29

We are so excited to have Jodi from Bugaboo Stamps as our sponsor this week.  I LOVE Bugaboo stamps.  She seems to have something that fits everyone's crafting style.

Everything That You Ever Wanted to Know About Bugaboo Stamps:

As if raising five children in the frozen land of the North was not enough of a challenge, Jodie Mackrell decided to dip her cold little Canadian toes into the world of paper-crafting by opening an online store full of her illustrations. That was two years ago. Today Bugaboo Stamps is one of the leading companies in digital images, and we're still growing! From seriously snarky to sugary sweet to sublimely soulful all the way over to the other side of the super sexy spectrum, you're bound to find all that you need and more to create your paper projects. Jodie works very hard to provide New Releases and Freebies every week!

Check out all the cool stuff on the Bugaboo website.

Our prize this week is 7 (yep, count 'em) SEVEN digistamps from the Bugaboo site.  Yah-hooo!

Sweet Sketch 194-5: Digi Stamp Boutique

Greetings from chilly Colorado

This week, since we are having a burst of warm weather before more snow moves in tomorrow, we decided to go to the Cripple Creek Ice Festival.

The festival takes place in a former gold rush town in the mountains.  It was great to look at the old buildings, as well as take in the beautiful ice carvings.  The carvers start with 160 pounds of ice and create AMAZING things.  Since it was warmer than normal, the poor sculptors were spending a lot of time repairing previous creations rather than making new pieces.

This year's theme was Greek Mythology.  This carver is working on Apollo in his chariot but he and his fellow sculptors also made Zeus, Pegasus, a cyclops, a winged victory and even a ice maze and slide for the kids to run through.

It was a wonderful day (though a little chilly)

Sweet Sketch Wednesday 193!!

Welcome back to Sweet Sketch Wednesday for another Sweet Sketch Challenge!!  I have had quite a weekend.  New England had a good ol' fashioned Nor'easter!!  The Blizzard broght up to 30 inches of snow around my neighborhood, with drifts 4 and 5 feet high!!  I live on the South Shore of Massachussetts.  As I write this Blog Post, many of my friends are still without power 4 days later.  We were fortunate not to lose power and only had to deal with the inconvenience of clearing away the snow.  But it IS winter after all, and I have to say I enjoyed being snowed in for a few days!!

We had gorgeous blue skies the day after the storm which made clean up a little easier to deal with...

Now I'm sure you would like to know  the winners of last week’s challenge…..

I am so humbled by the artistic talent of the girls coloring in my designs-- it is truly an inspiration! Likewise, I am so thankful for the friendships I've made in this wonderful and lovely crafty community! It's been a true delight! I'd love for you to stop by my challenge/inspiration blog, Saturated Canary Challenge and join in the fun...And, while you're there, click over to my personal blog (Saturated Canary) and introduce yourself! I am a bit eclectic and touch on everything from family (I've got me a great one!) to fashion (obsessed!)...Please say 'hi!'...I'd love to be friends!:)

Sweet Sketch Wednesday
Sketch 192
Sponsor:  Milk ‘n Coffee Stamps

Hi everyone!  It’s Sharon here from cold, wintery Michigan posting this week for the Sweet Sketch Wednesday team.  For those of you who are new to this blog, we welcome you to the Sweet Sketch Wednesday Sketch Challenge!  We are so happy to have you join us!  And for those loyal followers of SSW, we welcome you back and thank you for your support! You all are an inspiration to us.

Well they say that January is the coldest month here in Michigan but not this year. Freaky weird temperatures as high as 60 degrees greeted us in January. And now February is bringing in the frosty, freezing temps with snow and ice. Go figure!

I’d thought you all might like to see the frozen Great Lakes of Michigan. This photo is of the Mackinaw Bridge which joins the lower and upper peninsulas of Michigan and is also roughly the spot where Lake Michigan and Lake Huron converge. It’s amazing that such large bodies of water freeze over. While we may not like the cold weather, there is a lot of beauty in this state this season – probably why we often refer to Michigan as the “winter wonderland” this time of year.

Okay now let’s get started by announcing the winners of last week’s challenge…..

We also want to  give a Get Well shout out to Arlana – we miss her terribly here at Sweet Sketch Wednesday!  We’re thinking of you every week Arlana and hope your recovery is progressing!

Be sure to check the rules for the challenge at the bottom of this post – we want everyone to be eligible for the Grand Prize!

Our fabulous sponsor this week is Milk ‘n Coffee Stamps! The Grand Prize winner of this week’s challenge will receive three digi stamps from the Milk ‘n Coffee Shop – a terrific prize!  Now here’s a little info about the artists behind these terrific images:

Milk ‘n CoffeeStamps is a digital image shop specializing in cute and girly images. There are two people behind this shop, Esmeralda and Nathaza. We are best buddies from childhood with a common thing that we love so much:  drawing! What we try to do is draw various styles that suit different kinds of tastes so a lot of people with different styles can still play with our images for their cards.

Right now we have eight talented DT ladies who always help us have fun together with our weekly challenge at our challenge blog here. We also have a monthly colour challenge at our main blog. You can check it here. It’s very nice to see a lot of people join and have fun at our challenges.

In the future we want to make more cute images that are loved and used happily by many people.
Prize:  Three digi stamps from the Milk ‘n Coffee online store

Thanks Esmeralda and Nathaza for your generous prize package!
